This course is designed to expedite the student learning experience in the NX Software to design and analyze components that are meant to be manufactured using additive methods. A brief introduction to using NX manufacturing software to print components using fixed-plane additive manufacturing processes is also covered.

As with each course developed and taught by Siemens Digital Industries Software professionals, this class instructs the students based on the underlying principles incorporated within the NX product suite. This class was designed to increase the productivity of the student, teaching the necessary skills to accomplish the following:

  • Explore design freedoms made possible by additive manufacturing
  • Use geometry checkers to highlight conditions that may impact the success of an additive manufacturing build
  • Create lightweight lattice structures that can be produced using additive manufacturing
  • Utilize generative design with topology optimization to create new components
  • Modify facet models using reverse engineering and polygon modeling tools
  • Prepare a completed part design for print using fixed-plane additive manufacturing
WHO SHOULD ATTEND

This course is for designers, engineers, and CAD/CAM managers who need to design and prepare models for Additive Manufacturing processes.
