This course covers how to use EDM Design Cockpit and web-based Collaboration capabilities from a designer’s perspective. Cloud-based virtual labs eliminate the need to download and install software or configure an EDM Server before starting the labs. This course update is based on the next-generation UX- 2409 features.

PREREQUISITES

Familiarity with concepts of Schematic Design and PCB Layout using the Xpedition flow.

  • Create projects, set share permissions, and add metadata in EDM Design Cockpit
  • Create schematics, PCB Layouts, Drawings, and Panels in EDM Design Cockpit
  • Generate output files and support Remote Development in EDM Design Cockpit
  • Create baselines, releases, and ECOs in the EDM Design Cockpit
  • Generate EDX and approve project data in the EDM Design Cockpit
  • Use web-based EDM Collaboration capabilities to read notifications, review project data, add notes and markups, and compare designs.

Hands-On Labs

Throughout this course, extensive hands-on lab exercises provide you with practical experience using EDM Design. Hands-on lab topics include:

  • Using EDM Design Cockpit Interface to create a new project, create containers, add objects, copy, paste, and rename objects, set share permissions, import objects into EDM Design, and edit and check objects.
  • Using Xpedition with EDM Design to create and edit a Designer Schematic, create and edit a PCB Layout design, synchronize schematic and PCB designs, and generate outputs, panels, and drawings.
  • Create a Baseline from a Baseline Profile manually. Manage Baselines using edit, duplicate, release, create EDX, restore, and cancel Baseline functions. Manage, cancel, and approve project data.
  • Using the EDM Collaboration web client, navigate and view design data, cross probe, add notes and markups, search and update note status, and compare designs.
