This product training expands the fatigue life prediction in Specialist Durability from the base material calculation covered in the Basic Training to advanced topics like weldments and frequency-based loads.

Participants will be trained in the methods to simulate seam welds and spot welds. Setting up a simulation with frequency-based loads is taught, covering an excitation of the component by sine sweeps or sine blocks in Harmonic Vibration Fatigue or via PSDs in Random Vibration Fatigue. Thermal Fatigue enables the participant to consider the effect of high temperatures on the fatigue life prediction. The Stress Gradient Correction and the Calculation in the Volume are extensions of the base material calculation accounting for a reduction of the damage for highly localized high stress amplitudes and for components with inhomogeneous material.

Finally the options for customization of the software by creating and storing dedicated templates and parameters, modifying the appearance of the GUI and more are shown

WHO SHOULD ATTEND

This course is intended for engineers, who already completed the Simcenter 3D Specialist Durability - Basic Training, with an interest in learning how to use the advanced options Simcenter 3D Specialist Durability, like predicting fatigue life of welded components, components under frequency-based loading or components under thermal loading

Knowledge in structural FE analysis is required.
